I think it's fair to say that I have been a little absent but for these last 3 weeks my little shop has really taken off and its been a real struggle to balance the day job with making and packing orders. Now that the crazy 'thank you teacher' season is coming to an end things have slowed down ever so slightly which means that I am able to catch up on a lot of prep for up coming seasonal events. Dare I even whisper the C word? ... Ssshhh... CHRISTMAS! There I said it.
Over the weekend I managed to reach my next milestone with notonthehighstreet.com and so to celebrate I decided to do a little giveaway over on my Facebook page because the people over there are so supportive with everything that I post. Whether it's a moan about something that isn't going to plan, asking for advice or just giving encouraging comments. It all goes a really long way when you're having a day where confidence is lacking more than usual.
The prize is a mystery box of goodies with a value of around £50 or more. All that you have to do to enter is pop over to my Facebook page and leave a comment on the pinned post. It really is that simple.
For some my milestone is only a small one but for me its important because although it took me a long time to get there, I have done it at my own pace and have learnt a lot about the direction I wish to take my work in along the way. When I first started out I was predominantly prints but now I've branched out into a range of things and eventually prints will be slowly phased out or at least become not so important as the rest of my range. I've also learnt a lot about suppliers and how the 'on or before' dates on eBay usually don't mean a thing and that orders will generally turn up a week after they say they will. So the hunt for suppliers that won't let you down is a very important one.
Here is to the making of new products (even if they are for Christmas) and to the next milestone!
